Hayat Ahmad Khan

Hayat Ahmad Khan was born on 15 September 1921. He graduated from the Punjab University in 1942. He was an ace sportsman and was the freestyle champion of pre-partition Punjab swimming team. After completing his education, Mr. Hayat Ahmad Khan joined his father’s import and export business.

He founded the All Pakistan Music Conference in 1959, of which he was the Secretary General since its inception. He was also a member of the National Commission on History and Culture in 1994. He was the President of the Pakistan Japan Cultural association since 1981, President of the Japan Karate Association of Pakistan since 1987, and a member of the board of governors of the Lahore Arts Council.

In recognition of his valuable contribution in the field of Art (music), the President of Pakistan conferred on him the ‘Sitara-i-Imtiaz’ on 23 March 2000.
